Short rules to keep GoatGuess fair and fun for everyone. No extra small print.
1. What GoatGuess is
GoatGuess is a free daily game about athletes and esports players. It is run by Jakub Chadim, company ID (IČO) 03170586, Czech Republic (“we”). These terms apply to the website goatguess.com. By using the game you agree to them.
The game is free. We have no paid features at the moment. If we add any, they will have their own terms, and we won’t lock anything that is free now without telling you first.
2. An unofficial fan project
GoatGuess is an unofficial fan game. We are not affiliated with any player, club, league or federation, and none of them sponsors or endorses us. This includes, among others, FIFA, UEFA, the NHL, the NBA, the IIHF, Riot Games and Valve.
The names of competitions, teams and games are trademarks of their owners, and we use them only to say what the game is about. We don’t use logos, player photos or graphics from games.
Players appear in the game as drawn goat characters, not as their likenesses. More on the About players and data page.
3. Account
- You can play without signing up. After your first daily game an anonymous account is created automatically, so your results don’t get lost.
- You can sign in with Google or Discord from the age of 16. Your anonymous progress moves over to the account.
- Your account is yours alone. Don’t share it and don’t pretend to be someone else.
- You can delete your account at any time in the account menu (Delete account). How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
4. Fair play rules
In the game you must not:
- use bots, scripts or other automation, or download content in bulk (scraping),
- exploit bugs to inflate results. Please report the bug to us instead, we’ll be glad to fix it,
- get around limits, attack the servers or otherwise disrupt the service,
- create offensive, vulgar, hateful or impersonating names, nicknames and group names,
- use the game to harass others or for anything illegal.
5. Groups and nicknames
In a group, the other members see your nickname or name, your GOAT and your results. Anyone who knows a group’s code or link can join it, so share it only with people you want to play with.
If something breaks these rules, we may change a nickname or group name, remove a member from a group, close a group or block an account. Usually we warn first. Report an inappropriate nickname or group via Report a bug / idea or at gusta@goatguess.com.
When you delete your account, groups you own pass to another member. An empty group is closed.
6. Content and rights
- The game, its rules, texts, design, the Gusta mascot, the goat characters and the GOAT builder are our work. Don’t copy them or use them commercially without our consent.
- You may share your GOAT from the builder and your result images wherever you like, and use them as an avatar for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- We may show your nickname, GOAT and results to others in groups and in the game’s aggregate statistics.
- Data about athletes comes from open sources and is subject to their licences (Wikidata, Wikipedia, Liquipedia, Leaguepedia). An overview is on the About players and data page.
- If you send us an idea or a report, we may use it freely to improve the game. We owe nothing for it, but thank you very much.
7. No warranty
We run the game in our free time and for free. We do our best to keep it working and the data correct, but we can’t promise that:
- it will always be available and free of bugs,
- all facts about players will be accurate and up to date,
- a result, streak or card will never be lost.
We may change, add or retire games, or end the whole project. Before ending it, we will let you know and allow you to download your data.
We are liable for damage only to the extent that cannot be excluded by law, for example when we cause it intentionally or through gross negligence. This does not affect your rights as a consumer.
8. Changes to the terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add a new feature. You’ll see the date of the change at the top. We announce significant changes in the game in advance. If you don’t agree with them, you can delete your account.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer from another EU country, you keep the protection that the law of your country gives you.
If we disagree, write to us and we’ll try to sort it out. Consumers can also use out-of-court dispute resolution at the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (adr.coi.cz).
